CYW KUCHING
CYW Kuching Recap

Dedicated to The Heroes Of Change Your World Kuching Jan 30th 2010
We were amazed how we had a FULL HOUSE in Change Your World Kuching with over 890 passes sold even though they had only 1 1/2 months to CYW Kuching main event. Technically speaking they had only less than 30 days as they only started doing CYW Quest (Pre-event) 20+ days before CYW Tour (Main event).
We had decided Dec 2009 to cancel CYW Kuching as our champion for Kuching pulled out in Nov 2009 due to some unforeseen circumstances.
Our first Hero we would like to make mention is Kong Nai Lin our City Coordinator. She works in Kuala Lumpur but felt CYW was too good to pass by her city Kuching (her hometown) and she took up the challenge. Because of her passion & faith we agreed to do CYW Kuching.
She took 1 and half months off from her work and went to as many churches in Kuching knocking their doors and at the end she had about 5 churches only committed to CYW Kuching.
So we decided to talk to Nai Lin our City Coordinator for Kuching and find out what was the key that made it all happen. In her own words “It’s God and a team of leaders and young people who are passionate to sow into this generation.”
These are some of the HEROES we like to make mention and we hope this will encourage and inspire all of you reading this, that it’s never too young to make a difference.
1. Charmaine Chung 15 years old: spurred her friends (Guinevieve + Millicent) to do 450 flyers (come with a poem) to distribute in their school. The same flyer had been used in 3 other schools.
2. Guinevieve Liaw 15 years old: brought quest into an all boys school impacting 102 boys with quest. Overcome her shyself and did a simple icebreaker with them. She and her friends sold more than 120 passes.
3. Millicent Goh 15 years old: First to response to change your world Kuching and had 14 people at her house for quest 1. By second quest, with friends bringing friend- Quests started in 5 different schools
4. Cynthia Sim 15 years old: From the first quest, brought quest into her school –assembly 650++ students impacted. Teachers are too inspired.
5. Franklin Simon 23 years old: alongside with Mike and Ronald (captains from Boys Brigade) linked 2 other churches, and 4 Boys Brigade company for quest. Sold over 130 passes.
6. Sarah Lasung 26 years: First leader to response in partnering with CYW, her youth spreads and did quest in 2 other schools and linked 1 more church into our network. More than 180 passes sold.
8.
Elaine Yong 17 years old: Presented the CYW Quest in 5 different schools, 3 churches and her own home.
To all the Heroes who did the CYW Quest, ushers, helpers, security, sales team, drivers, our host who accommodate us in their homes, sound & light team, prayer warriors and the heroes who invited their friends you know who you are, we want to say “YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE” in changing Kuching.
Oh by the way, you guys and gals broke the record in investing to Change Your World Ipoh. Kuching gave RM2,792.00. Who says young people don’t care?
THANK YOU & TERIMA KASIH FOR MAKING CHANGE YOUR WORLD KUCHING A MEMORABLE ONE FOR US.

A “change” poem from our Kuching friends
This world is crawling with hurt and pain,
Where everyone’s tears would pour like rain,
And little children are lost without aim,
Wanting love that they could not claim.
Imagine if their lives were yours,
And it had been taken away by force,
Would you open your heart like doors?
And make your life worth living for?
So wake up now and look everywhere,
Grab every chance if you care,
You can even donate your teddy bear!
So let us change the world, okay?
Guinevere Liaw, Millicent Goh, Charmaine Chung
