CYW PENANG PT3
Time was against us, Rest became our closet friend.
Our sound check, light check, video check a.k.a REHEARSALS was like forever!
In between the session ,we had like a short break for lunch (thanks to Vincent and Joyce)
As the dance team waited patiently for their time to rehearse, the band and the lighting crew we’re trying really hard to nail down the attacks on certain songs to make an impact. Kinda reminded me about MJ’s: This Is It Doc-Movie. He wanted people not to just sit back and watch but wanted them to experience the event.
We didn’t have the same guy who did the lighting in Kluang so it was kind of difficult but we didn’t let frustration come our way and maintained an attitude that was right for the event.
We went through the songs over and over again until everybody from the sound, lights, video and even the band where convinced.We we’re serious in what we do and made sure we get it right.

CYW PENANG PT2
The Band reached the venue at about 11am. The dancers reached there at about the similar time.
Everybody was on the move, the video team and crew, sound team and crew, ushers, volunteers. Honestly, it’s these guys that make the whole thing happen. The reason why people are able to have a great time is mainly because of the time and effort made by these people “behind the scenes”
Everyone giving there best in what they do, some of them challenged as it is their first time to volunteer in such an event, some of them benefitting from the experience like our 1a.m. intern Ryan Nair from Kluang.
We gathered outside of the auditorium where P.C. shared a word of encouragement reminding us(band, crew, volunteers, etc) why we do what we do.

It’s been 10 days since CYW Penang.
Where do I start?
I remember walking in the Auditorium setting up our instruments and getting ready for sound check. I told Cuz, “What a waste if not a lot of people show up…”
The past few weeks where crazy from our side. 4 hours of practices almost everyday, some of us had sleepless nights preparing what needs to be done for the event. It takes a lot to step out of your comfort zone but all this was worth it.
Why? Cause if CHANGE has to happen then it has to start with us!
Some of our crew members were up and ready at 5:30am. I salute them. In fact some of them had already pre-planned their leaves just to make it for this event. It’s not that often we find people like that. We are blessed to have such people who are sold out for the cause.
In total, there where about 16 of us from KL that came to Penang. Not as big as the team in Kluang but the team had a big heart which was important in this trip
The band together with P.C. and Kelvin were still in the hotel. We had some of our dancers picked up in the airport who travelled on the day itself.

yo nick , morning =] hving a very nice sweet bcz of da concert that makes me think thru everything i’ve done . u guys are AWESOME!! hope to see u guys AGAIN!! please!! we,PENANG loved it and are really looking forward to seeing you again.. i really wanted to go to the 30th Nov thingy to help out, but i had some plans and i cant turn up, but i would DEFINITELY dare myself one day to go and help the people in the old folks home.. i WILL do it one day.. =)

Thanks guys for coming to Penang and inspire us to change our city, too many times we are asleep and lethargic i believe that this will be a launch pad for us as Penang young people to do great exploits here and beyond our nation. love u guys man.. thank u again.
Cyw Penang was awesome. Ahah. Was really inspiring. Gonna dare myself to do strange things to bring change.

so I do hope you can change your plans to help out on the 30th but if you can’t, commit yourself by emailing Daniel at danielloh@gbcpg.org and ask him to inform you whenever there is a project you can do.Thx for believing in Change.
