CYW South Africa – Hear Our Story
May 18th, 2011 » No Comments » CYW BLOGS
What comes to your mind when you hear the word africa?
How about South Africa?

Diamonds?
Poverty?
Hot dessert?
When we landed in Cape Town for the first time in 13th March 2011,
it was a totally different Africa we heard of.
First thing that caught our attention was the wonderful chilly weather.
Nothing like the hot weather asians tend to associate with. The scenery was BEAUTIFUL. A mountain next to a sea comparable to Miami beach. I’ve never been to Miami but it was certainly beautiful.
The only comparable beauty was in the people. (Read more)

Change Your World Cape Town (Short update)
Away from home and into a foreign land, this is Change Your World’s first city outside Malaysia.
Pre-event
Just a few days before the CYW event, Kel and Cathryn were invited guest in one of South Africa’s local radio stations to share what Change Your World is all about.
Later that evening, Relent were interviewed as well in another local radio station to share and promote CYW in Cape Town, South Africa.
Event
In short, on March 18, 2011 at about 6pm, people started to fill up the spaces at “His People Centre” – the venue of Change Your World. Aside from Kel, Cathryn and Relent, they also shared the same stage with local guest speaker, Errol Naidoo.
Justice, Mercy and Faithfulness were clearly communicated through the music, dance, messages and special video presentations. Finally, the challenge to bring change in South Africa was introduced.
Post-event
Days after the event, Relent was able to travel around Cape Town. In their travel, they stopped by a primary school in Mannenberg where they spent time with over 200 kids from grade 3 to grade 7, singing songs and sharing about change.
Much Love,
